Body armour solutions

Rheinmetall offers a wide range of high-effective active and passive protection solutions for internal security. The protection of people ranks the very first.

VERHA-Fabrics/VERHA-Inserts

These special ballistic solutions are part of the VERHA product family (Versatile Rheinmetall Armour). Rheinmetall produces ballistic fabrics, fabrics for body armour, coated fabrics for anti-stab systems (Protexa) and prepregs for inserts. Further we produce ballistic inserts to raise the protection of body armour level against heavy caliber ammunition (for example NIJ level III and IV and SK4).

In order to protect Police forces from rifle fire, Rheinmetall has partnered with special equipment maker Linderhof-Taktik to develop bullet-resistant plate carriers. These can be transported in the patrol car and donned if required.

Sensing Armour

In addition, Rheinmetall’s forward-looking Sensing Armour technology enables maintenance and inspection of hard ballistic bullet-resistant vest inserts. An integrated sensor system embedded in the insert makes it possible to check for damage quickly and easily even when inserts appear to be intact – without the need for expensive x-rays.
